General X- Ray
Upper GI: Barium examination of the upper GI tract including the esophagus, stomach, and proximal small intestine. Commonly used to look for hiatal hernia, reflux, or ulcers. Click here for more information.
Small Bowel Series: Barium examination of the small intestine.
Barium Enema: Barium examination of the colon. Largely replaced by colonoscopy. Typical use is surgical planning or looking for a fistula. Click here for more information.
Hysterosalpingogram (HSG)- Infertility testing: Hysterosalpingography is typically used to examine women who have difficulty becoming pregnant or who have repeated miscarriages. Contrast ( x-ray dye ) is injected through a catheter into the uterine cavity to assess the interior of the uterus and the patency of the fallopian tubes. Click here for more information.
